This magnificent and traditional pendant represents the finest of Navajo craftsmanship! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo overlay hand crafted by artist Alonzo Mariano, out of genuine sterling silver. Overlay is a process that utilizes at least two layers of sterling silver. One layer forms the foundation, while the second is used to design the individual detailed overlay. In this pendant, the second layer forms a beautiful Hummingbird design. Stamped patterns accent the pendant for an extraordinary finish. Hummingbirds are mainly known to be defenders of their territory. Many times stronger than their small size would indicate. The pendant is stamped sterling and hallmarked by the artist.
